A customer portfolio in Poland advanced its operations in 2024 by implementing the Early Warning functionality in the OneView® SCADA software. During the first test phase, the functionality demonstrated its value by identifying two developing issues:
- Hydraulic system irregularities: Abnormal oil temperature peaks appeared throughout an entire month. The Early Warning module highlighted the trend, making it possible to address the hydraulic problem before it could impact turbine performance.
- Generator bearing temperature rise: A gradual temperature increase was detected slightly ahead of the CMS alert. The temperature increase did not reach critical levels, but the early signal helped support better scheduling, reducing the chance of an unplanned stop.
Proactive turbine insights that help teams stay ahead
The Early Warning module works by analyzing turbine behavior continuously and flagging deviations that may develop into faults. Even subtle temperature changes or pattern shifts – often overlooked in daily monitoring – become clear indicators for closer inspection.
For operators and asset managers, this creates clear benefits:
Earlier visibility
Potential issues surface sooner, giving teams time to respond.
Stable operations
Early action helps shift maintenance from reactive to proactive and planned.
Second opinion
Detailed data access can catch deviations that other systems might miss.
This case shows how proactive insights built into SCADA systems support healthier turbines, fewer surprises, and smoother daily operations.
