Multiple existing data platforms, each with its own limitations, made it hard for this utility to scale, maintain, and extract value. License costs were escalating as data volumes increased, and the outdated technology stack hindered their AI ambitions. A unified, high-performance solution was urgently needed to simplify operations and enable future innovation.
Through close collaboration with the client and Confluent, our team designed and implemented a Kafka-based real-time platform that addressed scalability, performance, and security requirements. The team built a robust system architecture, developed multiple data producers supporting both modern and legacy protocols, and ensured secure, high-speed data access for multiple consumers. The new infrastructure was optimized to reduce costs, integrate seamlessly with the client’s data lake, and support ongoing digital initiatives.
