Gaining full operational autonomy was the central outcome of a 99 MW wind project in Kansas, completed in 2020. With 33 Vestas V90 turbines on site, the operator wanted more than just reliable production – they needed independence, flexibility, and direct control of their assets.

The existing park controller was no longer enough. It limited access to data, restricted turbine commands, and lacked the flexibility to support advanced control modes. Integrating all 33 turbines under a new system while enabling independent turbine management became the clear path forward.

The OneView® Universal Park Controller provided the answer to strengthening the wind park control. Replacing the old controller provided the operator with direct access to start and stop commands, ramping capabilities, and new control modes, including active power and voltage control.
